The Writer with a Purpose!

 My Purpose

Welcome to the world of Londa B! My Purpose is to impact the masses...one book at a time. I consider myself to be a writer of ALL genres. I could never affix myself to one task to perform in this lifetime. Therefore, I write, I speak, I publish, I design and much, much more.  If God has given you multiple talents---use them all! We are all destined to do great things in life, we just have to find our purpose. Find your purpose...the rest will follow!

    Londa B.
(known as Yulonda M. Brown) is a native of
St. Louis, Missouri. She resides with her husband of ten years Chad, and her children Chanda, Marcia and Chad
Jr. She is also the mother to an English Mastiff named, Sir Oliver. In her spare time, Yulonda loves mentoring  the young women of today. She also involves herself in monthly meetings with women that focus on the power of self-love, self-preservation and sisterhood within the community.

When the Writer with a Purpose, is not traveling, giving motivational speeches, and fighting as a mental health care activist, she is buzzing around in the literary world. She works as a freelance writer, publisher and cheif editor of her own monthly newsletter,Purposeful Literary Publications. A publication which  circulates throughout the midwest. This busy woman also works as an events coordinator of literary events. Right now...the main focus is her company. Londa B. is operates with her partner and friend, O'Shea their own publishing company, Aminia Books and Publishing. In addition this busy woman hosts her own blogtalk radio show three days a week.

Currently, Yulonda is busy with many things, but she realizes the importance of staying in touch with self. "You have to not only take care of your body in a spiritual and physical manner, but you also have to attend to your mental health. Many people live lives of secrecy, that's laced with shame and pain, because of past issues. However, not addressing the problem is bad for the mind. I call old problems, or suppressed issues... soul wounds. Your problems are like a sore. If you keep picking at them, without letting the medication as well as time to heal the wound...you end up with a bad infection. Take care of the problem(s) when they are presented, using the best solution possible. If it becomes worse...see a doctor that practices in the field of Psychology or medicine! You wouldn't go to the dentist for chest pains, would you? My point exactly, so visit the appropiate doctor that will be able to address your problem. I almost lost myself once before, by listening to un-certified professionals! LOL! Trying to be everyone's...everything is not where its at!!!! In the end that behavior leads you to the end! LOVE SELF FIRST! Without you, who can come next? I remember when there was a time, I was tired, worn out and no good to myself. I had to stop, and re-learn self-love all over again. Don't lose you!

The mind is powerful and strong. That is where the will to thrive and live...no matter what, is stored! Be good to yourself by eating right, getting sleep, exercising, not drinking or taking drugs and decreasing stressors in ones own life. You will see how good your mind and body will treat you in the end."

Currently, Londa B. is busy building upon her publishing company, as well as operating as a design specialist. Providing book cover, mailer advertisements, and book marker designs are on her menu of services.  Londa B. is also into helping spread awareness in the field of mental health. A survivor of physical and verbal abuse, Londa B. understands the importance of checking into ones own mental self.

"So many people fall by the wayside and drown deeply into suicide mode; when they feel all is lost and no one cares. We have to make sure that knowledge about mental illnesses is spread nation wide, so that others can help someone in their time of need! I am very dedicated to everyone that not only suffers with mental illness(es), but for those who are caretakers of the mentally ill. They need care as well. We are losing our future (our youth) to depression other illnesses and suicide. IT HAS TO STOP! My goal is to bring a very practical, witty, but yet sincere way of educating the masses about the signs, the symptoms, the care and after care of the mentally ill."

"I know I have alot on my plate but hey...it's all for a purpose. I am The Writer/Woman with a Purpose, aren't I? I recieved my awakening when my so called moments of invincibilty, started to tear my family apart. I seeked help and found out I was suffering from clinical depression, and that I was also bi-polar and had ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) all which wore me out. I'm not ashamed, nor am I crazy. I simply look at it as my mind works so much to where my body works just as hard...then I crash, which is when the depression sinks in. Admitting the problem is great...but sticking to the plan and attempting to change and stay on track...IS WHERE THE REAL WORK COMES IN AT!"

Londa B's ultimate dream is to create a literary haven for all writer's, author's, poet's/spoken word artist's, and painter's to have a place to socialize in. This haven would have a performance theater, classrooms, and many resources and services for those who seek them. "No one should have to struggle doing something they love. Especially when purpose and passion are present." Londa B, passionately states. The author is also currently in the process of creating her Not for Profit Organization. This organization, is geared towards mental health care health. .

Londa B's other dream is to also create an outreach/resource center for young women that offer a variety of classes and seminars. The seminars would offer advice on becoming independent, completing high school and obtaining a college degree, financial help/aid to help towards their goals and an array of other services. All of these tools will help blossom young women into productive women of the future. Re-inventing the love of "sister hood" is a very heartfelt dream and passion of Londa B's. As you can see this woman is all about the community and those around her!
